چکیده

Background: Objectives To assess the body composition in patients with systemic scleroderma (SS) and to determine frequency of sarcopenia (SP). Methods 43 SS were included (90% women), mean age 49.75±7.3 years. The underwent: dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry whole (DXA), assessment muscle strength (carpal dynamometry, lifting from a chair 5 times) functional state muscles (short set tests for assessing physical fitness (SST APF), determination mass index (BMI). In order interpret results study, appendicular (AMM) - sum legs arms, (AMI) ratio AMM (kg) height squared (m2) was determined. diagnosis made accordance updated EWGSOP2 criteria. Results SS, average content bone mineral 2.0±0,1 kg, adipose tissue 25.0±1,9 which turned out be an 28.0% total weight patients. Among examined individuals, obesity according DXA (fat > 35% weight) 50%, while calculated by BMI (≥30 kg/m2) detected 6 (14.2%), overweight (25-30 16 (35.8%) averaged 42.7 -18.2 AMI 6.7 kg/m2. Low found 4 (9.5%), decrease (14.2%) individuals. carpal dynamometry and/or “Get up chair” test 22 (52.3%), confirmed SP (decrease mass) diagnosed 14 (33.3%) When 18 (42.8%) patients, walking speed <0.8 m/s, SST APF less than 8 points 24 (57.1%) Severe (low strength, low capacity) people (19.4% entire group 75% SP). One patient had fat more 35%, thus diagnosing sarcopenic obesity. Conclusion pilot study showed that 50% obese, 33.3% 4.7% Thus, 12% SP, requires further this problem identify specific risk factors develop methods its prevention SJS. REFERENCES: NIL.
